Early Life
Personal Life Zubeen Garg, hailing from an Assamese family, was born in Tura of Meghalaya. His father Mohini Mohon Borthakur (pen name Kapil Thakur) was a magistrate and a poet and his mother Ily Borthakur was a trained singer. His love of music due to his family surrounding him with many instruments and friends/family singing led him to start singing before he could even talk. He learnt music from his mother, and then he took tabla training from Pandit Robin Banerjee.
